Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Regulations for Landlords

There are strict regulations in place, stated within the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Regulations updated in 2022, which landlords must abide by. These regulations mean that landlords must ensure there is at least one smoke alarm on each floor of the property, as well as one carbon monoxide alarm in any room that contains a fixed combustion appliance.

Meeting these regulations also means maintaining the alarms and ensuring they are repaired or replaced when required. This is essential to ensure your tenants are living in a safe environment with the correct fire systems in place.
